Stealth startup led by ex-Anduril founders pioneering cUAS systems, they're developing a high-speed interceptor, which is set to be the fastest electric platform in the skies. They're looking for someone to spearhead their aero efforts.

BENEFITS

Competitive Salary, Meaningful Equity, Full-package.

DESCRIPTION

Role Description

As a Founding Aerospace Engineer, you will own key elements of air vehicle performance, aerodynamics, and propulsion. You will work closely with the founding team across mechanical, electrical, and systems engineering, with direct influence over design decisions, test strategy, and iteration cadence.

This role is hands-on and execution-focused. You should be comfortable operating with incomplete information, running aggressive experiments, and making defensible engineering tradeoffs in a fast-moving environment.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead air vehicle aerodynamic design and optimization, focusing on drag reduction, thrust efficiency, stability, and controllability at extreme performance envelopes.
  • Architect, model, and refine the propulsion stack for a high-speed electric air vehicle, including propulsor selection, integration, and performance trade studies.
  • Execute CFD analyses from setup through validation, and translate results into actionable design changes.
  • Support hardware build, ground testing, and flight testing, working closely with manufacturing and test teams.
  • Contribute to system-level performance requirements, test plans, and iteration priorities alongside the founding engineers.
  • Move designs rapidly from concept to physical validation, balancing speed, risk, and technical rigor.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong, hands-on experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics, including simulation, interpretation, and correlation with test data.
  • Experience with turbomachinery or propulsor design and testing, such as propellers, ducted fans, compressors, or jet-adjacent systems.
  • Solid understanding of aerodynamics, propulsion, and air vehicle performance tradeoffs.
  • Comfortable wearing multiple hats in an early-stage, experimental startup environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field preferred, with demonstrated practical capability valued highly.

Why Join

You will be part of the founding team building a system designed for real-world deployment against a rapidly evolving threat. You will have meaningful technical ownership, direct access to decision-makers, and the opportunity to push the limits of electric flight performance.

ITAR Compliance

This position requires compliance with U.S. Government export regulations. Candidates must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
