Stealth startup assembling a small, senior engineering team to build next-generation, mission-critical hardware. This role owns core electrical architecture and subsystem development, from early design through integration, test, and production readiness. You will work hands-on in the lab, setting the electrical foundation while partnering closely with mechanical, firmware, and manufacturing teams.

Competitive Salary, Meaningful Equity, Full-package.

DESCRIPTION

Role Description

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will join a stealth, early-stage hardware company at the point where the electrical foundation is still being defined. You will own core electrical architecture and subsystem design, with direct influence over system performance, integration, and reliability in real-world operation.

This is a hands-on, early-team role based in Los Angeles. You should be comfortable building from first principles, operating with incomplete information, and carrying designs end-to-end alongside a small, execution-focused engineering team.

Core Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical circuits and subsystems that serve as core building blocks of the platform.
  • Own schematics, drawings, and technical documentation, and manage engineering changes as designs mature.
  • Define electrical requirements and interface specifications across the system, making disciplined trade-offs across performance, reliability, cost, and manufacturability.
  • Lead hardware bring-up and hands-on debugging in the lab using standard electrical test equipment.
  • Carry systems through integration and test until they function end-to-end.
  • Plan and execute verification and validation efforts, including test plan development.
  • Analyze failures, drive root-cause investigations, and implement durable corrective actions.
  • Collaborate closely with mechanical, firmware, software, test, and manufacturing teams to support builds and transition designs toward production.
  • Engage with suppliers or contract manufacturers as designs move toward scale, where applicable.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience taking electrical designs from requirements through release and seeing them work in real hardware.
  • Strong hands-on bring-up and debugging background using oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, logic analyzers, and related lab tools.
  • Experience writing test plans and executing verification and validation activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform failure analysis and drive root-cause resolution.
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills and comfort working closely with adjacent disciplines.
  • Experience working with suppliers or contract manufacturers is a plus.
  • High ownership and comfort operating in an early-stage, fast-moving environment.

Why Join

You will be part of a small, high-caliber early team building mission-critical hardware from the ground up. You will have meaningful technical ownership, direct access to decision-makers, and the opportunity to shape the electrical architecture of a system intended for real-world deployment.

ITAR Compliance

This position may require compliance with U.S. Government export regulations. Candidates must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
